Donate to Pops

Running an orchestra is not exactly free. Although your ticket money does help pay for our new music, publicity, and concert venues, it's just not enough. Our recent fund raising drive to establish an endowment was a great success, and will allow us to stop begging on the street in several years when we actually get some money out of it. In the meantime, we still need your donations!

Credit Card/Online

Donors wishing to make credit card donations online should can do so through the Harvard University Alumni Affairs and Development website (http://post.harvard.edu/collegegift). Once they've reached the website, donors should:

  • choose "Unrestricted" under Harvard College Fund Designation
  • include your group name and gift account number in the "Additional Information" box located under "Joint Gift Credit" (HARVARD POPS ORCHESTRA, HARVARD POPS FOUNDERS FUND, 330239)
  • If your employer has a matching gift program, contact your company’s personnel or employee benefits office to obtain a matching gift form. Complete your portion of the form and send it to the address below:

Gift receipts are sent to all donors by the Recording Secretary’s Office as an acknowledgment of their gift and as their tax receipt for the Internal Revenue Service.

Checks 

To make a contribution by check, please make the check payable to "Harvard University" and write "Harvard Pops Orchestra" on the memo line. Then send it to:

Please include your name and mailing address with the donation, and let us know whether your gift is for current use by the Pops or is to be added to the Pops' endowment (which is invested by the University).

Endowed Chairs, etc. 

Send us an email for more information on how you can endow a chair in the orchestra or otherwise help keep Pops popping.

Baked Goods 

To make a contribution by cookie or other tasty concoction, please email us to arrange a pickup or delivery in Cambridge. It takes a great deal of energy to run an orchestra, so all supplies for refueling are much appreciated!
